Lessee here, got another toy commentary. Lego Bionicle Visorak 1 of 3. We'll be covering Suukorak, Boggarak and their combined model Kahgarak. First thing off, I'll cover what's the same amongst all the sets. first off, the Packaging. Lego's reused and redesigned the Bohrok packaging for this canister. The lid has been built up on to include a nifty dome to hold the spinner discs as opposed to the Toa Hordika's open-air disc holder, in which they'd just fall out.
Next, the disc launchers. I haven't had a chance to play with them on these sets, but considering they're the same as all the other sets this year, they will be fun to watch the discs go off and spinning, but also easy to lose.(the come with two, one blank and one with a code for the Kanoka club.)
Last, the construction is all the same. If you buy one, you've built them all..mow, there is a difference in pieces, so they appear different..but when it comes to building, they're the same...so if your just in it for building and playing, and not doing MOCs(My Own Creations) or collecting, find your favorite color and get that one.
Suukorak uses pieces original to the Visorak, and pieces reused from the Bohrok/Matoran(03), Toa Metru and Vahki. It uses white pieces to reflect the 'armor' and main body, blue for the appendages, and light translucent blue for the eyes.
While Suukorak uses mostly white and blue for its colorscheme, Boggarak uses various shades of blue. Light blue for it's appendages, dark blue for it's body and armor, and a translucent orange for it's eyes. It uses pieces original to the Visorak, and pieces reused from the Throwbots/Toa/Toa Nuva/Rahkshi, Bohrok and Vahki.
Onto the combined model, it's a real disapointment. Kahgarak, is VERY awesome looking in pictures, but in person, you'll see the model is VERY open in it's design, with a huge gap in the back end of the construction, considering the pieces left over, I do wish Lego had tried to figure out how to use the left over pieces to make a more closed in figure...but oh well, at least there's the two Kahgarak models that look pretty decent in the playsets to play with. Considering the similarity in design, and the poor combo model, I believe these two are completely optional.
