Okay, see this guy up here? Easily one of the neatest toys to be released in the last few years, with a great promotional offer. If you sign up to Shocker Toys' forum and make twenty posts and the rank of Shockini Bootcamp, and you'll recieve a free early generation Custom Version Shockini. (You can also earn a 'Kini of choice at 100, and an exclusive at 500 posts.)
A SD 'kini.
and the 'kini with his sword painted, using Mirror Shine Nail Enamel by Avon(the only good Avon product, I think. I'm unsure if it's still on the market, however.)
Anyways, onto a quick review of the 'kini. He's roughly three and some odd inches, with 18 points of articulation, meaning he's able to get into any pose you'd like. Well, except for standing in a T shape, or doing the splits. (Shockertoys on the forum has said the newer generation figures do have a bit of a better range of motion, so I'll try and get a newer generation figure to do a real custom on.) As seen on the pictures, this Custom version is white, so it's prime for painting on. If giving as a gift to someone that doesn't paint/too young to paint, try getting a set of the different colors. They can be disassembled into whatever color schemes you want. Want a guy that wears a white t-shirt and black pants? Get a tan figure for skintone, a white figure for the t-shirt, and a black figure for the pants. Got a custom character easy as that.
However, the early generation figures don't mix and match with the newer generation figures. So to keep your 'kini safe from any dreaded breaks, make sure your only mixing newer generations with newer generations.
With the 20 post promotion, it's hard to say no to trying this line. It's great fun, and visit the forum. The head of the company interacts with the fans, not to mention there's great members hanging about.
