Well, here I am in my new blogging home.
My online name is Aoi or Juni/Juuni, if you play Phantasy Star Online,
I'm a 22 year old hobbyist, with frequent spare time, that collects anime, manga and plenty of plenty of plastic things best known as 'toys'. Sure, I'm considered adult by many standards, but a few years ago I realized how adults had it better to collect toys, than kids did. Adults can find a toy, they're intrested in and purchase it. No matter the price. Now kids could possibly do the same thing, but it requires much much more saving to get the expensive items. If not, as a child, it usually means you have to rely on, no offense meant parents here, brainless folks that quite rarely know what you mean if you say "I want the red one!" (@$10 or so dollars), but instead they bring home a "red one" for $2.99. That process is cancelled out as an adult. (now you might have to worry about that if requesting gifts, but sometimes it's not too bad. Might find something else to enjoy.) My favorite lines are naturally, the ones I grew up with as a kid, Transformers, Lego bricks, but as an adult, I've gained new favorites as well. Gundams, Stickfa's and as of lately, Shockini's. There are more, but those would be my overall favorites.
My other hobbies are, as mentioned earlier, collecting anime and manga(with a bit of video games in there. What modern age kid doesn't play 'em?) My favorite anime titles are Ghost in the Shell, Last Exile, Pretear, His and Her Circumstances(also known as Kareshi Kinojyo No jijyo...or Kare Kano for short) and Angelic Layer. My favorite manga titles would have to be Kare Kano, and just about anything by Clamp(including Angelic Layer, of course. heh.) The video games I really enjoy, is mostly anything by Sonic Team(Sonic The Hedgehog, Phantasy Star Online...and so on.), and by Capcom(I'd especially give it a try if it has Rockman or Megaman somewhere in the title.)
Let's see..what else should I cover in my first post. How about the music I listen to? Let's see. My favorite anime soundtrack composers are Yoko Kanno(Macross Plus, Turn-A Gundam, Escaflowne...) and Yuki Kaijura(.Hack, Noir, Tsubasa Chronicle...) As for music styles, I'm very eccentric. I can go from listening to ambient to heavy metal, to opera in the same evening pretty easily.
Now for the boring, non-hobby stuff. In my non-hobby time, I'm usually trying to find ways to earn money, but I suppose to some that could still be a hobby. I'm also studying animation and computer aided design as my major. That is, when I'm not forgetting to find out when registration is. (Last time, I called to find out, it turned out to be the very next day after I called, and hadn't anything prepared...so, it's safe to say, I took the semester off.)
Hopefully this is a decent introduction. I have two more posts I want to make, but they'll have to wait till later in the day. This is a bit of a long post, which I don't normally make. Hopefully you'll enjoy reading this blog as I'll enjoy writing for it.
